CHESAPEAKE BAY

Where do I board?

You will board at the City Dock, Ego Alley, near Dock Street, diagonal from the Middleton Tavern and Fawcett Marine.  You will see a life size statue of Alex Haley and we will meet right in that area. 

What time may I board?

A crew member will be at Ego Alley from 2pm to take your luggage. Passengers will board at 4pm. If you are going to arrive later than 4:00pm, please call our office #800-395-1343 or our Shore Manager – 401-835-2409 to notify us.  Though we do not set sail until the following morning, we want to make sure everyone is on board the first night.

What should I pack?

Arabella dress code is CASUAL at all times: Hat, Sunblock, Sunglasses, Shorts & short-sleeved shirts, lightweight jacket or sweater, walking shoes: for beach and land, Bathing suit.

•  We provide beach towels, blow dryers and snorkel gear.
•  All cabins have normal 110 volt plugs.
•  Soft sided luggage only, please pack very lightly. No safes on board.

What if my family needs to get in touch with me in the case of an emergency?

In the case of an emergency, you may give your family members the office number if it is during the regular business hours—Monday- Friday, 9-5pm

Your Cell Phone should work as we are never too far from Shore. Our cabins have regular 110V outlets.

What meals are included?

Breakfast and lunch are served onboard everyday and are included as well as hors d’oeuvres in the afternoon.  2 out of 5 dinners are included;

3 dinners are on your own in Annapolis, Solomons Island and Baltimore.

May I bring my own alcohol? No, we have a full bar aboard and strive to fulfill requests.

What time will I return to Annapolis?

You will disembark in Annapolis late morning;11:00am. Tuesday, morning we will be in Baltimore until about 7am that morning so you may disembark at that time if you wish.

 

Chesapeake Transportation information  

Driving:

From Baltimore (20 Miles) and points North:
I-95 South to I-895 South (Harbor Tunnel) to I-97 South OR I-95 South to I-695 South (Baltimore Beltway) to Exit 4, I-97 South. I-97 will end at Rt. 50- go East to Exit 24, Rowe Blvd. Follow signs to the Visitors Center.

From points West and Northwest:
I-70 East to I-695 South (Baltimore Beltway). Follow to Exit 4, I-97 South. I-97 will end at Rt. 50- go East to Exit 24, Rowe Blvd. Follow signs to the Visitors Center.


From Washington DC (30 miles) and points South:
I-95 North to I-495 North (Washington Beltway) to Rt. 50 East. Follow Rt. 50 to Exit 24, Rowe Blvd, and follow signs for the Visitors Center


From points Southwest:
Rt. 66 East to I-495 South to Rt. 50 East. Follow to Exit 24, Rowe Blvd. and follow signs to the Visitors Center.

The Easy Way to Park in Annapolis:

The best ways to park are to use the city garages or park at the Navy-Marine Corps Stadium (off Rowe Blvd. as you approach Annapolis) and leave your car there during your visit. Annapolis is a small city and was named as one of America's Top Ten Walking Cities by Walking Magazine. It is less than 1/2 mile for the Visitors Center to the City Dock.

Park in the Garages:

The Gotts Court Garage off of Calvert or Northwest St. is adjacent to the Visitors Center.
**The Hillman Garage off of Main St. is closer to the City Dock but tends to fill more quickly. Many businesses use this garage, but after the work day ends (after 5pm) the garage will empty. You could park at a meter during boarding, then upon getting back into town for dinner, move to the Garage for the week.

Park at the Navy-Marine Corps Stadium:

Shuttles run every 15- 20 minutes, FREE into the Historic District and FREE back to your car. Shuttles run weekdays 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. From May to October, they run weekends as well from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. For information on the shuttles, please contact Annapolis Transit at 410 263-7964 or click onto http://www.annapolis.gov and look under Transportation.


You can also reach Annapolis & Anne Arundel County by plane, train or bus. Airlines such as American, Continental, Delta, Northwest, Southwest, US Airways and more make flying into BWI Airport convenient. AMTRAK and MARC trains stop New Carollton (BWI).

Taxi Cab:


You may call Annapolis Cab Company at 410-268-0022 for a ride to any destination! Other cab companies are listed in the local phone directory.      By shuttle: Contact BWI Ground Transportation at 1-800-435-9294 for information on Super Shuttle and Airport Vans.

  To book your flights: Fly round trip into and out of Balto/Washington International (airport code: BWI ) Get in by 2pm on boarding day and book your flight out after 2pm on the last day.
